Hello friends,

Yesterday I posted an announcement detailing my plans to make CTHON free on itch.io for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. However, I became aware of a problem with this today - because you receive an external Steam key by purchasing CTHON on itch.io, I would be undercutting the Steam version of the game (which is on sale for 75% off right now for the Steam Winter Sale). Therefore, I must unfortunately retract my previous announcement - I cannot make CTHON 100% off on itch.io, as this most likely violates Steam's terms of service and also gives Steam users a worse deal.

There is good news however; as an apology for understandably disappointing Gravity Games' followers, I will have a sale for the same amount off (75%) as the Steam Winter Sale and running through until January 3rd, 11 AM PT. I know that that is not as good as a free game, but I can't in good conscience proceed with the giveaway. I hope you understand and know that I was trying to do a nice thing, but I got a little too ahead of myself!
